Weigh in

I didn't weigh in on Friday because I was on my period and knew I was retaining some extra water. So, I weighed in today and was down to 153.5...not fantasic, but 1.5 lbs. Any progress is still progress. I am not discouraged by it because it's hard with the holidays and this week has been hectic. I am actually feeling encouraged by the consistant week to week loss and that I have eaten healthy and made good decisions everyday since we started this blog. I do have a pretty severe case of anemia and woke up feeling very, very lethargic and generally anemic today. I took my iron supplement, but I may have to speak to my Dr. and begin taking an increased dosage since I am not eating much red meat.

Friday 12/18/09

Well I weighed in today and am down another pound. Thus I am 166. I actually was looking at my prgress ont the Wii fit today and I have actually lost 5 pounds since Thanksgiving. I feel pretty happy about that and motivated to continue on my quest. I will not be logging in from Hawaii but may put updates on my facebook. I will start back up though when we get home. Wednesday 12/16/09

Finally I am getting a chance to log on here.... My wieght on MOnday was up a pound. No surprise there. 2 parties over the weekend! However, as of today I am back down to the 167. I have done cadio all 3 days this week and wii fit toning for 35 minutes today and Monday. So apparently the work outs and not eating like a pig actually help :) I have decided I am going to officially weigh in Fridays as there is to much ALWAYS going on over the weekends for me to weigh in on Mondays.....Although my goal after Christmas is to at least keep working out on the weekends too. Food has been okay this week. Cheese totelini with alfredo sauce on Monday and chicken pot pie casserole last night. For lunch Monday I have triscuits and this amazing bean and corn dip and lunch yesterday was PF Changs. Today I had toast with peanut butter for breakfast and a nutrition bar and smartie for lunch. Tonight we are going out so I am going to have a burger. Although this is movig fast I am definetly stronger and I really am not going to ever stick to anything if I make myself miserable so slow and steady like the tortoise is my motto :)

Monday Weigh in-Kindra

Well, I had a rough week with my mom being in the hospital and I was very busy with phone calls, e-mail, facebook (it seems that is how my sisters like to fill me in) and Christmas things. I was a little disappointed when I saw that I was only down to 155 today, but that is still 2lbs. I didn't exercise much, only once this week, but I did keep busy with other activities like errands and housework. I didn't follow my diet as well as I would have liked, but I did eat healthy each day. All in all, I can't really expect more than 2lbs with the amount of work I dedicated to it this week. If I can keep losing 2lbs a week, I should be in pretty good shape in about 2 1/2 months and that is exciting. Off to a good start today, I had a piece of 45 cal. wheat toast with 1 TBS of strawberry jelly.

Tuesday

I stuck to my diet pretty perfectly. I worked out on our home gym on Monday and was really, really sore on Tuesday. For exercise, I did housework and just some simple body shaping exercises like leg lifts and sit ups. Today, I am going to do the circuit training again. It keeps me from getting bored and gets my heart rate up. I do this sequence 3 times and don't break in between so that it is both cardio and strength training. With the kids, I only get about 45 min. to workout, but this method is pretty effective. I did it after I had Kiley and I was toned and looked my best about 5 months after I had her. My routine is this: 3 min. on stair stepper, bench press 10X, leg raises 15X, the pull down bar thing 12X, reverse leg raises 10X, biceps and triceps with 10lb weight 10X, ab lifts with weights 10X, dancing for 3 min., step workout for 3 min., and then 2 different types of situps. I do that 3 times and all the weights on my machine are 20lbs. Each week I will add 1 min. to the cardio. Working out makes me want to eat healthy the rest of the day.

Tuesday

I have worked out on the wii fit today just to dice it up. I did 30 minutes of the cardio on it and 20 of the strength training. I may not have eaten enough yesterday as I am starving today...but I am trying to be mellow with the hunger. I have had a whoe grain waffle with peanut butter and jelly on it so far today. I plan on having a burger at lunch...no bun. I do plan on eating some cookies and have a couple glasses of wine tonight at my cookie exchange. But I really think I need to be able to lose this weight while leading my normal life :)

Monday weigh in 12/7/09 - Amy

Okay I have lost 3 pounds. This at least takes me out of the 170's and feels slightly less shameful. I feel this weight loss may be more acheivable from the 160's for some wierd reason. I forgot to measure before I got dressed this morning, sooo hopefully I'll remember tomorrow.

Monday weigh in-

I am weighing in each Monday. I am going to try to resist weighing myself each day because that can be decieving. Despite my weekend mess, I still lost 2lbs and weighed in this morning at 157. That is good progress for my first week.

Sat. and Sunday

Well, I didn't really adhere to my diet over the weekend. I was really busy and had to eat on the go a lot. My daughter also brought home a bag of Heath mini bars and until Sat. I had done good just having 1 or 2 a day-but I had a serious chocolate craving and ate many, many more over the weekend. I did keep my calories at 1880 on Sat. and 1700 on Sunday. I was too busy to workout. I excused this behavior by saying that I had only had the okay to diet/exercise for 1 week from my Dr. and that week was used as a transition from eating whatever to eating more conscientitiously. This week, I am really dedicating myself to working out 30 min. 5 times this week and ahereing to the guidelines of my diet. Typically, if I follow this diet, I lose 3-4 lbs a week and it's not hard to follow, but I have to write down what I eat, so I know what I can have and what I have already had for the day.

Daily-Kindra (Friday)

Today was rough because the kids were sick. I didn't get in any exercise, but did run errands.
Break: 2 pc. wheat toast (lite) with jam 200cal.
Snack: cheese dip with chips 300 cal
lunch: 1/2 pork chop 1tbsp noodles $ broccoli 200 cal.
snack: sugar free jello pudding and 2 mini heath bars 215 cal.
dinner: 1 soft taco 250 cal.
snack: yogurt 100 cal.
total: 1265 cal.

I need to get in more veg. and fruit. I also need to make sure to only get 2 starches a day. I went to the store today and picked up some oranges and applesauce. The plan I am trying to follow allows 2 protiens a day, 2 starches, 3 veg., 3 fruits, 2 dairy, and 1 fat. If I work out, I am going to add in 1/2 S., 1/2 P, 1 veg. or 1 fruit. I need to eat atleast 1280 cal. for my body to burn fat. Hoping to see progress...I have a hard time being patient with weight loss though.

Weigh in

My weigh in at the beginnin gof this week was 170...soooo shameful...thats actually the heaviest I have ever been. I did not do my measurements but will on Monday when I weigh in again. I would like to lose 25 pounds by my birthday which is in September. I am hoping with that amount of time I'll be able to do it without being miserable. Hopefully by March I will have lost a minimum of 10 pounds and actually kept it off.

Daily-Kindra

Break: 2 pc. low cal. wheat toast with jam 200 cal.
Snack: 1 pizza roll (off Creightons plate) 50 cal.
Lunch: Lean Cuisine-
(chicken and only 1/2 the rice) 200 cal.
Snack: roast beef and 2 mini heath bars 225 cal.
Snack: Low fat Jello pudding cup 60 cal.
Dinner: Pork chop, Green beans, broccoli,
and 1/4 cup noodles 400cal.
Snack: 1/4 cup icecream 100 cal.
Total: 1235 cal.
Exercise: 30 min. circuit training on weight machine.
2 diet pepsi's, only 1 glass of water. I need to work on getting much, much more water.

Goal and Plan-Kindra

My starting weight is 159lbs...no measurments yet. I am too depressed to take them.
My goal is to lose 30lbs by April or May. I also want to be more muscular and toned. I want to be healthy and fit. I do not want to be stick thin, but would like to fit into my size 4/6 clothes and look good.

GETTING STARTED

Each day, we should try to make a post of what we have eaten and done for exercise. Once weekly, we should try to post our weight, and measurments when comfortable, as well as any thoughts about the week. We could also use this to post tips and recipes. I hope this will be a fun way to lose weight, without the obligation and headache of having to go into a center or meet with a professional. I will start this off with my first post as stating my "goal" and my "plan". I will post what I ate and did yesterday as an example. I am very committed to losing this weight. I haven't felt good about myself in a couple of years and am anxious to not only fit back into all my clothes, but to feel attractive and be healthy and fit.
